This post offers an exciting opportunity to join the Safety and Resilience team at Eastleigh Borough Council and work in the wider Hampshire and Isle of Wight Local Resilience Forum (LRF).
About the role
The Emergency Planning Intern will be based at Eastleigh and will assist the Safety & Resilience Manager in his role of Community Resilience workstream lead for the LRF. The Internship will involve day to day support work, working with the Voluntary and Community Sector, and running projects such as Community Action Plans and the Hampshire Young People in Emergency Response programme.
Additionally, the Intern will be part of the wider response work of the LRF assisting with the response to local incidents in Eastleigh and more major incidents across the LRF and be part of the Council’s Emergency Control Centre team.
The successful candidate will need to be organised, have good communication skills, able to demonstrate their ability to work under pressure and be IT literate.
They will also be working towards (i.e. this will be an industrial placement) or have recently graduated with a degree in Emergency planning / Disaster Management.
