IMG Studios are seeking an MCR Operator to provide support to IMG production and the distribution departments by coordinating and establishing incoming and outgoing video feeds from Fibre, Satellite and IP; as well as coordinating and establishing incoming and outgoing audio and communication circuits and the quality control of content and appropriate reporting of issues.

IMG Studios is a state-of-the-art facility housing 4 HD broadcast television studios, 13 production galleries, 4 dubbing suites, 72 edit destinations, 5 radio studios, an award winning 3D Graphics & Visual Effects team, large data Centre, satellite farm, and a Master Control Room (MCR) which includes 5 transmission suites and monitors over 400 HD lines in & out of the building.

We’re looking for someone with ambition and an open mind, exceptional attention to detail and a positive, proactive outlook. Experience in a technical role in either a Broadcast or MCR environment is preferable, but full training will be provided. You should, however, have a good understanding of TV technical and production techniques and a logical, efficient approach to solving problems. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and establish incoming and outgoing video and audio feeds from Fibre/ Satellite/IP;
  • Coordinate and establish incoming and outgoing audio and communication circuits;
  • Quality control of video, audio, and data content and appropriate reporting of issues;
  • Recording of live programming;
  • Coordinate playouts of live feeds and pre-recorded programming;

Required Skills and Experience

  • Thorough understanding of broadcast specifications and standards;
  • Previous operational experience in an MCR environment;
  • Good understanding of TV technical and production techniques;
  • Experience of pushing feeds to streaming platforms and IP delivery;
  • Logical and efficient approach to solving problems;
  • Understanding of video and audio encoding theory, computer systems and networking;
  • Understanding of video server technology.

Working Conditions

  • This is a permanent full-time role based at Stockley Park, Uxbridge
  • Working hours are a 7-day fortnight shift pattern which include weekends and public holidays. Shifts are based on a 12-hour day with start times between 07:00 and 13:00.
