To fully understand the manufacturing process and then drive down costs through process and quality improvements.

Key accountabilities

  • Develop, implement, validate and continuously improve the methods of manufacture to ensure requirements for safety, quality, cost and lead time are achieved
  • Provide support for employees, external customers, or suppliers with regard to process performance and product quality and conformance to both internal and external specifications
  • Create or modify standard operating procedures as required to help improve product conformance to specification and process capability
  • Keep abreast with developments in new and current technology relative to production processes and identify ways this technology can be used and implemented
  • Support New Product Development initiatives
  • Cost management of projects to deliver on budget with agreed justified savings

Key experiences and skills

  • Some understanding of Glass Reinforced Plastics (GRP) manufacturing methods and techniques
  • Ability to project manage from concept to delivery
  • Root cause analysis techniques and how to implement them
  • Budget management of projects
  • Ability to calculate cost savings and complete required Capex and justification documentation
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability multitask across multiple projects
  • Excellent IT understanding
  • Presentation skills - to present ideas and findings to colleagues and customers.

  • ISOHH and COSHH awareness
  • Understanding of robotics
  • Lean methodologies
