To research, analyse and develop Group sustainability strategies and policies to reduce the Group’s environmental impact whilst delivering business objectives.

Key accountabilities

  • Conduct site inspections and visits to understand the Group’s operations and build relationships across the Group
  • Identify and assess material sustainability risks and opportunities for the Group
  • Coordinate Groupwide data collection to enable monitoring of the Group’s carbon footprint and other areas of sustainability performance
  • Continuous improvement of data collection process and validation of underlying assumptions and methodology, to ensure material sustainability areas are well understood
  • Analysis of data to identify areas where businesses could improve their sustainability practices
  • Research the latest technologies to reduce carbon emissions and produce reports with research-backed recommendations
  • Work with the Sustainability Forum and Group management to develop sustainability strategy and goals that align with the Group’s operational and business objectives
  • Collaborate across the business to implement measures to support of sustainability goals and drive sustainability improvements
  • Develop frameworks, metrics and internal reporting
  • Monitor and evaluate progress, collecting feedback from colleagues, and refreshing policies to ensure the Group remains on track
  • Keep up to date with relevant environmental and sustainability legislation and best practice, advising where necessary, to ensure Group compliance
  • Collaborate with Group finance and third party service providers to fulfil the Group’s sustainability-related external reporting requirements
  • Work with relevant teams on marketing strategies to promote the Group's sustainability projects
