The Equinix Summer Internship Program offers wide-ranging opportunities in within the Commercial Optimization team. As a Commercial Optimization Intern, you will work on a global team producing various reporting and analytics to enable Commercial Operations leadership to make key decisions. This role will work cross-functionally to assist in developing business insights, creating automated analyses in Tableau, and supporting ad hoc analyses in Excel for consumption by Commercial Operations stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have outstanding analytical and problem solving skills; the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment; excellent verbal and written communication skills; the capability of working both independently and in teams; and a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities
Summer Project
- Data Exploration: Explores data to determine trends and relationships between variables.
- Analyze data related to IBX performance including churn, fill rate, pricing, utilization, and financial outcomes.
- Ad Hoc Reporting: Creates ad hoc report requests, using insights from data explorations to prepare visualizations and reports for stakeholders using Excel, Tableau, and PowerPoint.
- Stakeholder Management: Reaches out to stakeholders to clarify requests with stakeholders. Follows up and tracks statuses for actions taken.
- Prepare Reporting and Analytics: Builds and improves reporting and analytics in Tableau dashboards and Excel that provide insights into metro strategies, IBX performance against business cases, and customer assets.

Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university/college, in your penultimate year of your Bachelor’s or Master's degree studies
- Available to work full-time between for the duration of the Summer Internship Programme (May to August or June to September)
- Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the confidence to routinely interact with leadership
- Ability to create accurate reports, deliver presentations, and share information and ideas with others
- Analytically driven and detail-oriented, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Package and aptitude to learn new software
- Experience with Tableau (or similar)
- Results focused, highly organized, and detail-oriented
