Inspire a culture of improvement. Excel beyond spreadsheets. Find your place.

Bring your love of problem-solving and your proactive attitude to our Tax teams, where you’ll build your own hands-on experience working with real clients from day one – all while working towards a professional qualification. You’ll be on your way to becoming a Tax Advisor, helping local and international businesses find better ways of doing tax. Welcome to Project You.

What is Tax at EY?

We help local and global entrepreneurs, high-net-worth individuals and organisations manage every element of their business’s tax. And as a function, Tax has changed more than ever in the past five years. Not only is Tax broader in its operations, but it’s also more digital. From bots that do our number crunching to AI that inspires our innovations, Tax is no longer bound to Excel, it’s boundless. Tax is now one of our most central business areas and we work across our entire organisation to shape strategies of the future.

What will you be doing?

Working within EMEIA Tax Centre, People Advisory Services – Mobility and Reward, Tax, or Tax Technology & Transformation, you could be:

  • Working directly on tax reporting, compliance and planning alongside senior colleagues
  • Building important relationships with local or global clients and assessing the strengths and weaknesses of their FTSE 100 businesses
  • Learning how to apply the tools and technology we use
  • Specialising in a particular area of Tax, such as our Mobility, Reward, or Tax Technology Transformation teams

Throughout the programme, you could apply technology to improve processes and save time on tax return preparation; develop new services to target tax opportunities; or help a company restructure its operations to make the most of tax reform.

No matter what you do, you’ll add value to an extremely important business area while taking advantage of coaching and development opportunities – and even studying for your qualifications. And, if you do a great job, you might even be promoted to Senior Consultant or Tax Advisor by the end of the programme.

Believe in a bigger purpose, take responsibility for our reputation and be the one to progress beyond what’s expected. Be the one to create sustainable and long-term value for our wider business. This is your time.

Got a head for numbers and a respect for complex rules?

Entry requirements

We operate an open access policy, meaning we don’t screen out applications on your academic performance alone. You will, however, need to be working towards an Honours degree in any subject – some programmes will require a subject relevant to the business area – have a minimum of grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths, and three A-levels or five Highers (or equivalent) to be eligible to apply.

Applicants should be aware that the following programmes carry the added requirement that you be working towards an honours degree in a STEM subject:

  • EMEIA Tax Centre - Tax Technology & Transformation
  • EMEIA Tax Centre - Platform, Solutions & Intelligence

“What I really enjoy about my work is how technically complex and varied it is. This combined with the fact that we’re dealing with some of the largest organisations in the world, that are carrying out some of the biggest and most complicated transactions, makes my work extremely interesting.” Ushana, Tax Graduate Programme
