The Graduate Release Manager role is primarily to oversee the delivery of changes into major releases and patch releases, with the aim of ensuring each release meets clients’ expectations of timeliness, quality, delivery efficiency and reliability.

This role is key in ensuring the delivery of high quality releases to our clients.

 Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with individuals and teams across the organisation.
  • Co-ordinate the delivery of software changes into major releases and patch releases, advising and assisting with the sequencing and timing of deliveries to ensure client expectations of quality and timeliness are met.
  • Work with the established mechanisms for identifying high-risk deliveries, assist in evaluating options and working with Delivery Teams and others to mitigate risks while delivering to client expectations.
  • Provide advice and guidance to Figaro teams on optimal approaches for delivering software changes into the required releases, referring to senior colleagues for further guidance as appropriate.
  • Track corefits and backfits across different release levels, and highlight to Delivery and Support Teams where these are required in order to avoid regression.
  • Assist in the continual evaluation of process, identification of improvements, and alignment of Figaro process with proven industry practices.
  • Assist senior release managers with managing multiple client releases, including reporting to key stakeholders, and managing (and setting) client expectations.
  • Produce management information and quality metrics on patch releases to inform continual improvements to the entire SDLC.
  • Ability to produce literature appropriate to the audience.
  • Willingness to research and learn new topics with some guidance.
