You will be working in one of our Mechanical teams across:

  • Asset Integrity,
  • Systems Design and Management
  • Energy Technology departments.

The teams apply their mechanical engineering skills across a range of industry sectors to support clients from the concept and feasibility stage, through design, into operations and through to life extension and decommissioning. The teams use a range of techniques including systems engineering thinking, design practices and high-fidelity computational analysis.

What you’ll be doing at Frazer-Nash?

Working within a consultancy environment offers the chance to experience a wide variety of diverse projects across a range of industry sectors; you'll be given the opportunity to develop yourself at each step of the project lifecycle, finding the missing piece of the design puzzle to managing project delivery, winning work and having the opportunity to work directly with clients.

Some examples of the types of work that you could be involved in include:

  • Developing bespoke instrumentation solutions and conducting site and offshore trials to help our client’s understand the performance and condition of their equipment and assets.
  • Conducting the high fidelity computational analysis that provides the evidence to underpin the design of future floating wind farms or substantiate continued safe operation of the UK’s nuclear power station fleet.
  • Conducting the concept and detailed design work for new medical devices, aeroengine test rigs and future low carbon flight and shipping concepts.

What you’ll need?

We are interested in hearing from excellent candidates who want to work in Mechanical Engineering. As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2:1 in your Batchelor’s or Master’s degree. You may have relevant experience from University courses that are similar to any on the following list:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • General Engineering
  • Systems Engineering
  • Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Naval Architecture

Engineering Consultancy is the juncture at which People, Projects and Physics meet. To be successful in this role you will need not only fundamental technical skills but also an aptitude and interest in:

  • Planning projects for successful delivery.
  • Communicating with a wide range of project stakeholders.

Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-­Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
