Gallagher Re is looking for a dynamic and proactive individual to join our Placement Support (Latin America and Caribbean) Team providing support to Producers and Brokers in servicing our clients. This position will be based in Ipswich and will require daily interaction with other colleagues in Ipswich, London, Mumbai and other regional offices, as well as with our clients and reinsurers. Travel to London may be required at times. The business unit handles proportional and non-proportional reinsurance contracts for our clients.

Your role

  • Create Market Appraisal sheets for Broking Team
  • Review market security information on carriers, checking compliance and financial positions
  • Work closely with Sales Team in London to ensure effective delivery of client service to clients
  • Ensure compliance with Gallagher policies and best practice throughout the placement process
  • Maintain files in an orderly manner electronically, ensuring these are within best practice guidelines
  • Ensure contract records are accurately maintained within transactional broking system
  • Generate and issue evidence of cover, debit notes and closing instructions
  • Review and interrogate reinsurance contracts to facilitate billing within agreed timescales
  • Review metrics to identify issues on own portfolio and take action to resolve
  • Establish regular contact with colleagues from A&S, accounting, claims, and contracts to ensure joined-up client service
  • Manage and resolve queries from clients and reinsurers, seeking assistance as required ensuring escalation where necessary and resolution with minimum delay
  • Proactively chase and process mid-term premium adjustments
  • Build, develop and maintain strong client, third party and reinsurer relationships with assigned portfolio, liaising closely with Team Leader, Client Service Manager and/or Operations Director

Your skills, knowledge & qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or strong A level or equivalent standard
  • Working towards the ACII qualification or ACII qualified (desirable)
  • Relevant insurance industry experience
  • Experience of use and management of broking systems appropriate to own office (desirable)
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Experience in delivering applicable compliance standards with client service teams Experience in supporting client service through process adherence
  • Knowledge of global reinsurance markets
  • Intermediate IT skills (Microsoft Office suite)
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workloads with good time management skills
  • Eligible to work in the UK
