Our legal and compliance teams are critical to our business operations, consisting of savvy legal experts dedicated to keeping our company’s operations compliant with laws and regulations. Including senior-level lawyers who supervise, litigate, and make strategic decisions to junior-level lawyers ready to research, review, and support.
Roles and responsibilities
Contracts Management Placement
In the 12-month Contracts Manager Placement, you'll gain invaluable skills and experience in covering all aspects of contract management including risk review, contract drafting and negotiation, protecting our intellectual property, corporate governance and board meetings, assisting on commercial real estate matters and working with our Compliance function.
You could be assisting with drafting and negotiating the contractual agreements for the sale of our products and purchases from our suppliers, whilst also gaining experience in M&A transactions, GE Aerospace’s Compliance program, international trade controls, research tasks and monitoring changes in applicable laws (and its impact on the business).
The UK Contracts Team is made up of contract specialists based at Cheltenham but who also support other Systems businesses in the UK. During the placement, you will gain valuable insight into the running of a busy Contracts department and have responsibility for many projects. You will work closely with other members of the Contracts organisation locally, and as part of a wider UK and global Contracts team, whilst also working closely with the GE Aerospace Legal team.

In the 12-month Legal Placement, you'll gain invaluable skills and experience in covering all aspects of legal practice including risk review, contract drafting and negotiation, protecting our intellectual property, corporate governance and board meetings, assisting on commercial real estate matters and working with our Compliance function.
You could be assisting with drafting and negotiating contractual agreements for the sale of our products and purchases from our suppliers, whilst also gaining experience in M&A transactions, GE’s Compliance program, international trade controls, research tasks and monitoring changes in applicable laws (and its impact on the business) and providing general legal support to our business.
During the placement you will assist the International Commercial Legal team in all matters that we work on, including high value aircraft engine sale and servicing agreements, licensing, commercial real estate, ESG, corporate governance, NDA’s, business advisory, research projects and disputes. You will have the opportunity to work on cross-border transactions, drafting contracts, networking with our Sales, Commercial and Product Line colleagues (from working team to senior executives).
You will be guided by structured goals and objectives and will have responsibility to deliver on inspiring projects supported by your People Leader and team around you. We will guide you throughout the year to ensure you make the best of your GE Aerospace experience. Your People Leader will offer coaching and mentoring, and you will be provided with the opportunity to connect with other placement students across the UK.

- On course or achieved a 2:1 degree

Security Clearance
Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role. Please note that in the event that BPSS clearance cannot be obtained, you may not be eligible for the role and/or any offer of employment may be withdrawn on grounds of national security.
UK Security Clearance
UK Security Clearance (SC) may be required and maintained for some of our placement roles. Due to the nature of work, some of these roles are restricted to candidates who are a British National, or a dual National where one of the dual nationalities is British subject to any restrictions.
Candidates who do not meet the minimum requirements for UK Security Clearance will therefore not be eligible for some of our roles on grounds of national security. If UK Security Clearance is not obtained for some roles, any offer of employment may be withdrawn on grounds of national security.
