- You will have completed a minimum of 2 years of your undergraduate degree but will not have graduated at the start of your placement. You must be enrolled at a UK (United Kingdom) or ROI (Republic of Ireland) University for the duration of your placement.
If you have already graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree and are currently studying a postgraduate Masters, you are not eligible for this programme.

Overview of the department
The development of digital solutions to reduce paper usage and waste on site. The team is responsible for supporting the site to meet its 2030 Smart Manufacturing digital objectives and upskilling, influencing other departments to adopt new technology. The team also are responsible for identifying new technology that would be of benefit to the manufacturing site.
Key placement activities
- Supporting the site digital initiatives as part of Smart Manufacturing strategies.
- Creating PowerBI dashboard and site-specific apps
- Identifying digital improvements to eliminate wasteful processes on site.
- Build Digital learning skills for app development.
- Use and develop machine learning algorithms
Role 2: Digital, Data and Analytics

Overview of the department
A placement within the Digital, Data and Analytics department could involve working with one of two teams. Firstly, The Data and Informatics team ensures efficient product control on-site by leveraging data analytics and digital solutions to optimise operations and maintain high product quality. Alternatively, The Digital Factory team are responsible for introduction of new tech and supporting existing systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

- Highlight areas for improvement in inventory management and collaborate with planning teams for value delivery.

Role 3: General Product Supply Analytics

Overview of the department
This role sits in the GPS and Strategy team. This department includes Continuous Improvement, Digital Data Analytics, and Project Management teams which oversees the whole Worthing site and provide support to all departments from end to end. The candidate will have the opportunity to get involved in all site functions and experience a wide range of processes but also will have the ability to learn transferable skills such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma tools, Digital and Analytics, etc
Key placement activities
- Support with business analytics to support the drive of KPIs
- Support the engagement of DD&A culture across site
- Drive/support improvement frameworks in key areas across the site
- Support the role out of Glaxo production system (continuous Improvement system) across all of the site
- Work closely with production areas to support the execution of their improvement plans
- Learn and develop digital solutions as part of SMART Manufacturing using AI, Power BI, Power Apps, and other tools
