    Once you accept your offer you will be invited to join LinkedIn groups and pre-joining webinars, to enable you to connect and network with new students. You will join IPUnite, GSK’s community of over 250 students across all UK sites and business areas, run by the Industrial Placement students committee and will receive access to GSK resources, including employee assistance programmes, private healthcare, and well-being programs.

    Other requirements

    • You will have completed a minimum of 2 years of your undergraduate degree but will not have graduated at the start of your placement. You must be enrolled at a UK (United Kingdom) or ROI (Republic of Ireland) University for the duration of your placement.
    • If you have already graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree and are currently studying a postgraduate Masters, you are not eligible for this programme.

    The role

    Overview of the Department

    Research & Development Engineering Services provides facilities management, engineering and capital project services tailored to the needs of R&D. We collaborate with our suppliers to ensure our environments are safe, reliable, compliant and sustainable. As a global function we support over 13,000 people across 19 sites in 6 countries, covering 4.7 million sq ft with a budget in excess of £400m per annum.

    There are multiple roles available within the department across our Strategy & Governance as well as Risk & Compliance teams. Within these, you will have the opportunity to become a true business partner, collaborating and building lasting relationships with key stakeholders.     *The ideal candidate will possess skills allowing them to excel in strategy, governance, risk and compliance within the RDES department.     • This placement will give you a wealth of experience in an industry leading business and opportunities to build a set of transferable skills which will help you stand out from the crowd as you pursue your career options. From day one you’ll put into practice the business skills you’ve gained at university, learn from experienced colleagues, and network with a wide community of business professionals, customers and other undergraduates.
    • Performing data analysis to track progress against our KPIs, aid strategic planning and generating insights to inform decision-making
    • Supporting the design and deployment of our communications and engagement plans as well as initiatives which drive our culture
    • Project managing the transition of our services to a newly-negotiated Enterprise Facilities Management contract
    • Identifying and implementing business process improvements through an operational effectiveness mindset
    • Supporting preparation for internal and external audits to maintain GSK’s regulatory licence
    • Performing local management monitoring activities to ensure adherence to policies and procedures
