Discover Graduate Programme overview:
The Discover Graduate Programme is a 2 -year structured, rotational programme with a unique experience in understanding how our Business and finance team operates.
The programme aims to equip graduates with specialised finance skills and knowledge, by offering a thorough induction and continuous training and professional development including, Development Workshops, Mentoring and Language Training, whilst working towards an accounting qualification to develop and enhance commercial knowledge and be to apply learning back into the finance team.
Key Responsibilities:
Rotation 1: Treasury
Assist and Support the Planning & Treasury Manager with:
- Weekly and monthly reporting of subsidiary cash flows and balances.
- Roll out of new payment platform to subsidiaries.
- Maximising cash functionality in newly installed Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- Treasury support for business development activities.
- Treasury support for integration of newly acquired businesses.
Rotation 2: Planning
Assist and Support the Planning & Treasury Manager with:
- Collection of data for the group business plan.
- Budget project to maximise ERP functionality to improve current budgeting processes.
- Timetable for group and subsidiary budget process.
Rotation 3: Business Development Finance
Assist and Support the Business Finance Director with:
- Monthly company-wide finance report.
- Construction reports.
- Business Development analysis and data collection.
- ERP integration & administration.
Rotation 4: Controller
Assist and Support the Group Financial Controller with:
- Group year-end activities including audit preparation.
- Month end close of accounting books.
- Accounts Payable function.
- ERP controls and processes.
Qualifications and competencies:
- Bachelor's Degree preferably in Finance/Accounting, Business, Maths, or another numerical subject
- Ambition to become a qualified accountant and to work in a finance role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite, especially with Excel (e.g., sum, if, pivots, lookups)
- An inquisitive attitude - likes to analyse and generate action.
- Organised with efficient time management.
- High standards for accuracy and presentation
- Team player, good at listening, learning, communicating, and sharing knowledge
Compensation and benefits:
- Starting Compensation Package: £26,000-32,000 depending on education background and/or experience.
