Graphcore has created a completely new processor, the Intelligence Processing Unit (IPU), specifically designed for artificial intelligence. The IPU’s unique architecture means developers can run current machine learning models orders of magnitude faster. More importantly, it lets AI researchers undertake entirely new types of work, not possible using current technologies, to drive the next great breakthroughs in general machine intelligence.
The Team
As a Software Developer in Test, you will be working with our AI Software Development Kit (SDK) and gain experience with industry-standard frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch and ONNX.
You will help create methods for verifying the accuracy, throughput, and validity of probabilistic ML models using statistical analysis and data visualisation techniques. You will spend a significant amount of time developing software.
In this role you will gain experience with the following technologies:
- Software development on Linux environments
- Python, Groovy, and C++
- TensorFlow
- PyTorch
- ONNX
- AWS and similar cloud infrastructure
- Jenkins and similar CI/CD systems
- Data storage and visualisation tools such as ELK, Grafana
- Docker

About You
We are looking for technical, passionate and motivated individuals! With a desire to learn, work and develop in a technically challenging, fast paced environment, you'll also be;
- On track to obtain a 2:1 or equivalent in a Computer Science, Software Engineering, Machine Learning, Maths, Physics, Mechanical or Electronic Engineering.
- Note: other subject areas may be considered but you will need to show evidence of strong programming capabilities in Python
- Confident programming in Python, shown through previous work experiences, internships or personal projects
- Highly motivated and a self-starter, validated through extra-curricular activities or hobbies beyond your studies
- Passionate with a keen interest to learn about the exciting new field of AI
- Strong team-working and excellent interpersonal skills
