The Health Foundation is an independent charity committed to bringing about better health and health care for people in the UK. Our aim is a healthier population, supported by high quality health care that can be equitably accessed.  The REAL Centre was set up to improve the quality of decisions across the health and care system.  We do this by commissioning and conducting high-quality research which provides evidence on issues such as funding, service priorities and workforce.

We value equality, diversity and inclusion, and welcome applications from different backgrounds.  For this role, we positively encourage applications from candidates who are disabled, come from ethnic minorities or come from different socioeconomic backgrounds.  We are also committed to making reasonable adjustments for candidates who have accessibility requirements.

This internship is a great opportunity for an individual who is enthusiastic about project management within health and social care research and is keen to learn more. This is an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate who is highly organised, thrives as part of a team and has experience of working with others to plan and deliver activities. For example, group projects within your degree, or through volunteering or a role in a university society.  If you want to build up these skills within a professional environment, this is the right internship for you.

The successful candidate will gain experience working with the REAL Centre team and colleagues across the organisation on projects spanning a range of topics. They will be supported to develop their project management, analysis, research funding and communication skills. This is a development opportunity and the intern will receive mentoring for the duration of the placement. In return, they will be expected to bring enthusiasm, curiosity and a flexible approach to their work.

To be considered for this position, you need to answer four screening questions and upload your current CV.

The Health Foundation's London office is currently closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with all staff working remotely. The successful candidate will start their internship remotely, from any location, but we hope they will have an opportunity to work in the London office (Blackfriars) later in 2021. Once the office is reopened, we want the REAL Centre Intern to come to the office for a minimum of two days each week.
