Role

This role will be the first step to an international career in logistics where you will have the opportunity to provide high quality of customer deliveries by monitoring and controlling all aspects of our domestic outbound deliveries.

Main Tasks

Leading the daily 3PL Transport operations in GB and Ireland
Manage, implement end-2-end transportation processes & visibility
Achieve targeted OTIF service levels across GB & IRE
Achieve targets set for freight spend in all categories and reduce costs through transportation initiatives for the GB & IRE
Ensure resilience and sustainability in the transport network
Execute the Logistics and Transport strategy
Ensure the performance of the service providers at targeted levels
Focus on customer experience in collaboration with Customer solutions / Service and balance service levels with cost
Supplementary tasks

Proactively manage service providers in order to anticipate and manage risk, performance and quality issues
Project management
Ensure freight audit compliance
Report on Transportation milestones, events, cost initiatives and conduct analytics

What does the role involve?

You will be our Transport Specialist for not only Great Britain but our Northern Europe region.

You will also have the opportunity to effectively manage freight costs in order to achieve productivity targets. Working in a team environment you will have regular contact with team members in other functions both domestically and internationally.

Although based in our new facility in Carrington Gateway, there will be occasional opportunities to travel within in Northern and Central Europe.

We're currently working from home but later in 2021 will move to new premises at Circle Square in Central Manchester. There will be free parking and we will be located a short walk from Oxford Rd train station and St Peter's Square tram stop. We'll offer a hybrid working pattern between the office and home and different ways to work flexibly so please feel free to talk about what flexibility means to you at your interview.

What you need is:

  • Educated to at least Degree Level (Masters Preferred)
  • Previous Supply Chain experience, transport experience an advantage
  • Proven IT experience, SAP experience an advantage
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Desire to further develop in Logistics & Supply Chain
  • Excellent communication skills
  • International mobility for longer term career progression outside of the UK
