Take the opportunity to learn about the banking or technology industry, how HSBC works and the careers we offer on this four-day programme primarily for students of black heritage.

What you'll do

Your HSBC journey will be built upon - and thrive with - your skills.

We know how important it is to have the right skills, both for your future and ours. By building this skillset now, we’ll help you develop the agility to keep learning new skills throughout your career.

Over the course of four days, you’ll get to:

  • Spend time with our managers, build your network, learn about different roles and see our offices
  • Show your skills and passion during interactive learning sessions, skills workshops, work shadowing and complete real-life case studies
  • Connect with our black heritage colleagues who will share experiences and advice from their own career journeys
  • Learn more about the business area of your choice, be it Commercial Banking, Digital Business Services, Global Banking & Markets or Wealth and Personal Banking
  • Determine whether a career in banking would suit you. And if it would, how to take the next step

Who you are

This programme is aimed primarily at students of black heritage, but we welcome applications from students of all backgrounds, and degree disciplines, not just those who’ve studied finance-related degrees, or those who have knowledge of banking.

It takes a broad range of skills to be successful at HSBC. We’re looking forward to seeing the mix of skills you’ve learned so far, and hearing about the unique perspective that you’ll bring to our teams.

To join us on this programme, you’ll need to be:

  • A first-year student studying on a three-year degree or a second-year student studying on a four-year degree
  • Interested to learn about the financial industry

What you'll learn

At the end of your four days with us:

  • Banking will no longer be a mystery. You’ll understand the ins and outs of the industry and the career paths available so you can decide if a career with us is right for you
  • You’ll have experienced our culture first-hand and learned all about our global strategy, ESG goals, Employee Resource Groups, and above all, our people
  • You’ll have developed skills that will help you with future internship applications
  • You may be invited to attend a fast-track Virtual Experience Day, and be considered for a 10-week Summer Internship the following year
