Transformation Services Global Graduate Programme
What you can expect
Our Transformation Services team partners with all areas of Global Banking and Markets (Global Banking, Markets Securities Services and Global Liquidity and Cash Management) and Commercial Banking. Transformation Services is an integral part of the COO (Chief Operating Office) function within Global Banking & Markets and Commercial Banking. We bring together transformation, knowledge management, research and insight, innovation, business architecture & design capabilities with the existing Transformation execution teams, working alongside our partners in IT to deliver business outcomes.
We connect strategy to action; delivering value through deep institutional knowledge, intelligent design and delivery of end-to-end solutions. We leverage digital capabilities and implement innovative technologies, supported by an on-demand resource model.
Our rotational graduate programme opens a world of opportunities that will provide you a breadth of experience at a global scale, while providing you the training and development to equip you with the appropriate skills to progress your career.
What will you do?
During your programme induction and initial training, you will receive in-depth learning about the different areas within Global Banking Markets and Commercial Banking before embarking on a series of rotations.
Working as part of a team, you will apply your analytical skills across various situations. This could include understanding root cause analysis for business problems, defining business outcomes and associated routes to achieving them, as well as driving change. Rotations exist across Transformation Partners (project management / business analysis), Business Design & Architecture, Business Process Reengineering, Innovation and the Chief Data Office.
You will collaborate with senior leaders and colleagues to create and implement quantitative and qualitative solutions using different analytical principles to serve both our internal and external clients. The results of your work will help drive the design and implementation of high priority programmes and initiatives.
Further to this, you may explore rotations in the data management part of the bank which underpins everything we do, before experiencing some of our innovative capabilities.
Learning and development
We offer a high-quality learning and development programme. You will start with our Global Graduate Induction, which will take place for all graduates joining our global businesses. This will provide you with an overview of HSBC, as well as an opportunity to network with your 2021 global graduate peer group and colleagues in the business.
Once you have completed the Global Graduate Induction, you will join our Technical Training which will provide you with an understanding of how everything in the bank fits together, along with a mix of technical and regulatory training. The Technical Training is also an ideal opportunity to start building your own global network, which will prove invaluable as your HSBC career unfolds.
We’ll provide the support, tools and opportunities for you to drive your own career development. Your training will be carefully structured, with events and other opportunities to build your wider HSBC and banking knowledge. You’ll have regular access to business leaders for coaching and advice, while constructive feedback will enable you to measure your performance.
There will be plenty of people around to support you. You’ll be assigned a mentor and graduate buddy, who will be on hand to offer advice and guidance and provide a sounding-board for your ideas. There will be many opportunities to develop your network of contacts within Transformation Services and beyond. You’ll also be able to take part in our sustainability initiatives. Our volunteering programme, for example, could help you to develop new skills, while contributing to the communities in which we work.
As well as your immediate team, we have Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), also known as networks. They are similar to the clubs and societies that you may have had access to at school, college or university. ERGs are voluntary employee-led groups. Our seven core diversity-themed networks are: Ability, Balance, Embrace, Faith, Generations, Nurture and Pride. We also have common interest groups that connect employees on a variety of different topics. They are open to all employees.
