The Wholesale Chief Operating Office, which is where our Strategic Programme is based, is a talented team of around 7,000 colleagues. They work in a variety of middle and back-office roles to support the frontline activities of our Commercial Banking and Global Banking businesses. Together, we deliver the best digital and business solutions, playing an integral part in creating a bank fit for the future by transforming how we serve our customers and colleagues.

This programme is for individuals who wish to apply their analytical skills across a variety of situations. This could include understanding root cause analysis for business problems, defining business outcomes and associated routes to achieving them, as well as driving key change initiatives.

Our Wholesale Chief Operating Office teams partner with all areas of our Commercial Banking and Global Banking businesses, playing an integral part in creating a bank fit for the future by transforming how we serve our customers. We deliver exceptional customer journeys, enable growth and increase efficiency across the entire Wholesale ecosystem. We connect strategy to action; delivering value through deep institutional knowledge, intelligent design and delivery of end-to-end solutions. We leverage digital capabilities and implement innovative technologies.

What will you do?

During your programme induction and initial training, you will learn about the different areas of Commercial Banking and Global Banking before embarking on a series of six-month placements.

Placement rotations exist across Strategic Transformation Programmes, Digital Change, Customer Experience, Business Process Reengineering, and each of the core departments which form the Wholesale Chief Operating Office, providing you with a broad understanding of the bank.

Working as part of a team, you will apply your analytical skills across a variety of situations. This could include defining and validating business problem statements, shaping business outcomes and associated routes to achieving them, as well as driving key change activities.
