Now that the UK has exited from the EU you will be joining HSE/CRD at an exciting time. You will be joining a diverse multi skilled, group of scientists of mixed ability and collaborating on the primary goal to protect human health and the environment. We have opportunities in a range of different teams, primarily responsible for assessing and evaluating scientific data on chemicals, biocides, detergents and pesticides to support regulatory decisions in the UK.
You will become a subject matter expert in the regulation of chemicals, gaining invaluable experience in regulatory science. You’ll be immersed in national and international legislation, being involved in strategies for our future following EU exit, scientific writing and regulatory decision-making.
In this office based role, our structured training programme will introduce you to all elements of our work, enabling you to gain in depth knowledge of the regulation of chemicals and develop valuable experience in regulatory science. As early as your second year , you will have the opportunity to apply and progress to the next grade with an increase in salary.
We’re looking for ambitious Scientific Officers to join our team. You don’t need to have a background in health and safety. What matters is your decisive, analytical approach, excellent judgement, and communication skills. You will need to have a 2:2 degree in biology, chemistry, environmental sciences or other relevant scientific subject.
