About the Role
Fantastic opportunity to work at a leading global cosmetics company in the South West of England. The company are looking to recruit a talented graduate for their Packaging Sustainability role. This role will drive investigation into sustainable packaging solutions for use in cosmetic packaging and to communicate findings to the wider business. An understanding of packaging manufacturing process and materials is required to help inform feasibility of sustainable packaging.
This is a permanent role, and if successful you will be enrolled into our 12-month Graduate Training scheme which will support your ongoing professional learning & development. Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Investigating new and innovative packaging solutions to promote sustainable options which ensure the business is at the forefront of packaging development.
- Assessing packaging formats and evaluating their sustainability credentials before providing clear recommendations to commercial teams.
- Ensuring that learnings and knowledge of sustainability is shared throughout the business:
- Creating quarterly customer presentations to communicate brand specific incentives & blue-sky developments in sustainability.
- Utilising supply base to understand what is currently offered within their sustainable packaging portfolio.
- Developing metrics to provide visibility both internally and to customers on the progress which has been made to improve sustainability of components.
- Reporting on the amount of Plastic Tax that is payable on a yearly basis.
- Completion of annual packaging waste reports to communicate the output of material into the environment.
- Creation of Packaging Health Checks – which are used to visually communicate the sustainability rating of a pack.
Requirements
- A Degree in a relevant subject is essential e.g. Environmental Science, Product Design or Material Science
- Knowledge and experience within packaging manufacturing environment
- Must be PC literate with experience of Microsoft Office (Including Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Great organisational and planning skills
- Confident written and spoken communication.
