At the applied High Performance Compute team we focus on applied research that seeks to solve practical problems within the AI domain targeting the different software and hardware designs at Imagination Technologies.

Join the Applied HPC R&D team as a placement engineer. You will have the opportunity to combine your knowledge and continuous learning with the expertise and skills of Senior Research Engineers. You will be exposed to cutting edge hardware and software technology. You will work on real projects that will have real impact our products. This is a good opportunity to grow the skill set that will make the foundation for your future career development. You will be working within a small team of Senior Research Engineers and very closely to a designated mentor.

You will

  • Follow the research processes and procedures towards resolving a practical problem
  • Investigate improvements to existing algorithms and technologies
  • Create models to validate initial hypothesis towards problem solution
  • Support world leading research currently working on big and complex projects
  • Write technical reports

Abilities make possibilities

You are naturally curious person, solutions orientated and a world class problem solver who constantly seeks opportunities to innovate and achieve the best possible outcome. You have a strong abstract reasoning skill, with the ability to create solutions based on fundamental concepts and principles.

You have

  • A strong mathematical background (including e.g. linear algebra, probability theory, stochastic methods)
  • An engineering or a computer science background
  • Experience with a programming language (e.g. Python/C/C++)
  • Currently working towards obtaining a masters or PhD degree (Electronics, Software, Machine Learning, computer science or a related area)

You might also have

  • Experience with any of the following subjects: Computer architecture, HPC.
  • Practical experience with applied research
  • Experience with Linux OS
  • Experience with any machine learning framework
