Our Virtual Environment (VE) software is already the only tool that allows designers and engineers to simulate the full performance of a buildings. We are now expanding our portfolio with new solutions to tackle the built environment at any scale.

We are currently looking for a number of physics, engineering or maths graduates to join our software development team. We are expanding the team who turn physics theory and concepts into software code which simulates the energy performance of buildings in order to reduce the energy use of those buildings.

As a software developer at IES, you will receive training to develop your ability to code in C++ and Fortran and develop algorithms to simulate thermodynamic processes of buildings to help reduce energy use.

About you

  • Are educated to degree level in one of the following subjects: physics, engineering or mathematics
  • Have experience writing scientific code in any programming language and are keen to develop these skills further
  • Are motivated by using your analytical and problem-solving skills for a practical purpose
  • Are interested in a career as a scientific software engineer
