The opportunity

We are looking for an Engineering Intern who is keen to develop their skills within a company at the forefront of building performance simulation technology. The position is full time, working hours are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate will work on projects tasks related to the creation of performance digital twins at both building and the wider community scale, be involved in testing new software features and will be exposed to existing as well as newly developed software tools.

In addition to our current software, the VE, we have a plethora of new tools and software under constant development to tackle the climate emergency. These tools are at the intersection between physics-based modelling, machine learning and 3D visualisation. Interns will contribute to shape the development by using these tools in exciting and challenging projects from building to urban scale.

The candidate

We are looking for enthusiastic candidates with the following skills and qualifications:

  • Working towards a degree in a relevant discipline such as Building Services Engineering, Building Physics, Architecture, Sustainability Engineering or Urban Design.
  • An understanding in the field of sustainable building design, such as energy modelling, energy auditing, low energy design, retrofits or retro-commissioning
  • Experience with using building simulation software or related software tools (e.g. CAD, energy and loads analysis, daylight modelling, solar analysis, HVAC design tools) would be a distinct advantage.
  • Awareness of BREEAM, LEED and Building Commissioning.
