Make a difference every day!

Invesco is driven by a pure focus on investment. It’s all we do. We focus on doing work that matters and being a firm that gives a voice to every employee. In fact, we make a promise to our clients and each other to create greater possibilities together. We’re looking for people who have fresh perspectives. Who can come together to share ideas, listen and challenge each other to achieve better solutions for our clients.

Your team

The Asia and Emerging Markets Equities team has a wealth of experience, and a demonstrable ability to manage risk and navigate volatile markets over time. The team take a valuation-led approach, incorporating thorough fundamental analysis. Their skill in forming different views from the market and patience in waiting for their investment theses to play out over time has been key to their successful track record. It’s a diverse team, with many different backgrounds and perspectives: something we feel sets us apart.

Your role

Do you have an interest in the investment management industry?   We’re offering an opportunity for you to get some outstanding experience, working within our renowned Asia and Emerging Markets Equities team on a 4-week summer internship.

You don’t have to be the President of the Investment Society and you don’t have to be studying economics or finance – but we are asking for a keen interest in the industry and its drivers (which could be demonstrated in a number of different ways), a thoughtful and inquisitive mindset and strong analytical skills, which could be gained from any degree stream.

During the internship, you’ll get involved in company analysis, assessing potential investment opportunities and evaluating companies’ future prospects, with a view to considering whether or not to include them in the portfolio.  You’ll also do some fund analysis, comparing and contrasting competitor funds with our own.  You could also expect to do some macro-assessment of various emerging markets.

Sound interesting?  We’re looking for people who love learning and who have a diverse range of interests; people who can provide different perspectives and ideas.   You’ll enjoy working with numerical concepts and you’ll have a high degree of cross-cultural understanding (language skills would also be an advantage).  You’ll also relish the opportunity to work both independently and as part of a supportive team, demonstrating your initiative and achievement focus.

The internship is open to penultimate year undergraduate students from any subject area.

The dates for the internship will be:

  • Monday 20th June – Friday 15th July 2022, OR
  • Monday 18th July – Friday 12th August 2022
