DEADLINE 31st October 2021

Make a difference every day!

Invesco is driven by a pure focus on investment. It’s all we do. We focus on doing work that matters and being a firm that gives a voice to every employee. In fact, we make a promise to our clients and each other to create greater possibilities together. We’re looking for people who have fresh perspectives. Who can come together to share ideas, listen and challenge each other to achieve better solutions for our clients.

Your team

The Global Equities team operates a very clear investment framework, with a disciplined process and a focus on fundamental bottom-up research. We are unconstrained from a sector and geographic perspective, seeking to find the best investment opportunities to combine in thoughtfully constructed, diversified portfolios. There are a range of investment strategies we manage, focused on client requirements and local market demand. It’s a diverse team, with many different backgrounds and perspectives: something we feel sets us apart.

Your role

Do you have an interest in the investment management industry?   We’re offering an opportunity for you to get some outstanding experience, working within our renowned Global Equities team on a 4-week summer internship.

You don’t have to be the President of the Investment Society and you don’t have to be studying economics or finance – all we’re asking for is an interest in the industry and its drivers, a thoughtful and inquisitive mindset and strong analytical skills, which could be gained from any degree stream.

During the internship, you’ll get involved in micro-based research, doing deep dives on individual stocks globally.  You’ll participate in team meetings where there will be discussions of investment ideas and you’ll have the chance to pitch ideas and articulate the rationale behind your recommendations, helping you learn more about the entire investment process.  We’ll also ask you to do a small project where you’ll write an investment thesis and present it to the team.

Sound interesting?  We’re looking for people who love learning and who have a diverse range of interests; people who can provide different perspectives and ideas.   You’ll ideally be tech-savvy, with strong written and verbal communication skills, and you’ll love the chance to work both independently and as part of a supportive team, demonstrating your initiative and achievement focus.

The internship is open to penultimate year undergraduate students from any subject area.

The dates for the internship will be:

  • Monday 20th June – Friday 15th July 2022, OR
  • Monday 18th July – Friday 12th August 2022

 How to Apply

Whilst a CV is important, we’d like to get to know you as more than just a name on a piece of paper. In addition to your CV, we’d like you to address a few questions that are important to us in a Word or PDF document:

1.    What interests you about a career in investment management and how have you demonstrated this?

2.    Introduce us to a topic you know about and tell us why it interests you.

3.    What do you see as your key skillset and why is that applicable to this internship?

4.    What is the most significant learning experience you’ve had?

5.    What is your proudest achievement?

This is a great chance for you to shine and to help us better understand your motivations! Unfortunately, we will not be able to consider your application without this submission.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 31st October 2021
