Make a difference every day!

Invesco is driven by a pure focus on investment. It’s all we do. We focus on doing work that matters and being a firm that gives a voice to every employee. In fact, we make a promise to our clients and each other to create greater possibilities together. We’re looking for people who have fresh perspectives. Who can come together to share ideas, listen and challenge each other to achieve better solutions for our clients.

Your team

The UK Equities Team is made up of generalist fund managers, with the flexibility to direct their research efforts towards those areas of the market where the best investment opportunities can be found. We have a collaborative approach to fundamental investment analysis and adhere to a structured and repeatable investment process. Within this framework, fund managers are able to shape their portfolios according to their specific style and objectives. The range of investment strategies within the UK equity stable is designed to meet the varying requirements of investors. At the same time, we aim to capture what we believe to be the best investment opportunities across the market. It’s a diverse team, with many different backgrounds and perspectives: something we feel sets us apart.

Your role

Do you have an interest in the investment management industry?   We’re offering an opportunity for you to get some outstanding experience, working within our renowned UK Equities team on a 4-week summer internship.

You don’t have to be the President of the Investment Society and you don’t have to be studying economics or finance – all we’re asking for is an interest in the industry and its drivers, a thoughtful and inquisitive mindset and strong analytical skills, which could be gained from any degree stream.

During the internship, you’ll build on your awareness of the investment industry through conducting research on stocks, portfolios and doing market analysis.  You’ll learn more about the end-to-end investment process by participating in team meetings and developing your understanding of what contributes to outstanding investment decisions.

Sound interesting?  We’re looking for people who love learning and who have a diverse range of interests; people who can provide different perspectives and ideas.   You’ll ideally be tech-savvy and you’ll love the chance to work both independently and as part of a supportive team, demonstrating your initiative and achievement focus.

The internship is open to penultimate year undergraduate students from any subject area.

The dates for the internship will be:

  • Monday 20th June – Friday 15th July 2022, OR
  • Monday 18th July – Friday 12th August 2022

How to Apply

Whilst a CV is important, we’d like to get to know you as more than just a name on a piece of paper. In addition to your CV, we’d like you to address a few questions that are important to us in a Word or PDF document (word limit 350 words per question):

1.    Introduce us to a topic you know about and tell us why it interests you.

2.    What is the most significant learning experience you’ve had?

3.    What current economic or business-related factors do you think are having the most impact on UK Equities investing?

4.    The world will look different coming out of the COVID-19 health crisis.  Pick something (anything) that you think has changed as a result of COVID-19 and explain how this change will impact society.

This is a great chance for you to shine and to help us better understand your motivations! Unfortunately, we will not be able to consider your application without this submission.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 31st October 2021
