IQVIA are offering the opportunity for an internship as a Health Behaviour Researcher in our global Medical and Patient Communications team, as part of the Behavioural Science team. You will have the opportunity to gain experience in the application of behavioural science / health psychology to inform physician and patient services, such as adherence and self-management interventions for people living with chronic conditions and educational resources to support clinician and patient interactions. You will also gain exposure to a busy communications agency environment, within a Fortune 500 company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Co-design research projects with senior oversight, agreeing deliverables and timelines
  • Perform literature reviews to identify relevant evidence-based insights and intervention models
  • Perform broader desk research as required to meet the needs of the project, for example, social media listening, reviewing publicly available health services / digital tools
  • Create client facing research and project outputs, including presentations and reports with support from the broader project team
  • Support the creation of patient and clinician facing materials, for example, discussion guides and behaviour change activities
  • Support project proposals for assigned project/initiatives
  • Assist team members with requests related to assigned project/initiatives, for example, checking digital functionality during patient app builds, creating summary client reports
  • Complete required corporate training courses and department administration items on schedule with high quality

Education

  • Essential – MSc in Health Psychology or similar behavioural science discipline

Required Subject Matter Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Understanding of core health behaviour change theories and models
  • Demonstration of proficiency in key research skills, such as literature reviews and principles of research design – ideally with familiarity (as relevant to education stage) of qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team
  • Familiarity with office applications such as PPT, Word, Excel

  • Flexible and pragmatic to help bridge the gap between academic theory and real world, commercial application
  • Strong communication skills, verbally and written, that can be adapted to different audiences as needed
  • Autonomy – whilst this is a team role there is an expectation that the candidate can work independently within the remit of the scope of their role
  • Ability to work across multiple, different projects simultaneously
  • Creative thinking
