An exciting opportunity has become available at the Isle of Man Post Office. We are looking for a passionate Graduate Systems Developer on a permanent basis with a strong programming foundation to join our dynamic team full-time. This role will support our ICT function by designing, developing, and maintaining software systems, all while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a supportive environment.

The role

Main responsibilities:

  • Primarily develop and maintain the core software for internal systems. Write clean, well-organised and fully documented code, adhering to programming best practices.
  • Solve complex scalability, platform and integration problems.
  • Create and maintain front-end and back-end software, consisting of core application logic, database and application integration.
  • Adhere to change control procedures.
  • Perform testing and debugging of any back-end applications or systems.

The person

We are looking for somebody who:

  • Is a graduate in computer science or related field
  • Has experience in data structures such as XML/JSON and relational databases, Powershell and/or Bash
  • Has experience in web technologies: JavaScript, HTML, CSS
  • Has experience in version control systems
  • Good verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Good report and documentation writing skills

Pay will be commensurate to experience on the applicable pay band to the role and commences at £26,564.06 to £30,743.74.
