We are looking for the brightest most innovative undergraduates to join us to Challenge Today and Reinvent Tomorrow. Our industrial placement students are innovators, disruptors and passionate about taking on this challenge!

Our 12-month long industrial placement programme offers you the chance to develop your technical, consultation and environmental skills alongside developing key business and leadership skills such as business development, people leadership, business management and digital. With dedicated leadership support, an agile approach to learning and developing we will help you develop your skills and follow your passions and develop hands-on experience in the breadth and depth of our amazing business.

About the opportunity

Our industrial placement students work across a range of disciplines spanning Consulting and Engineering.

They come from any Engineering background – Civil (Bridges/Structural Engineering/River Engineering/Water Engineering), Mechanical (Water Treatment/Building Services), Electrical, Geotechnical, Process Engineering, Fire Engineering on a wide ranging and diverse portfolio of projects. Jacobs support clients in some of the most exciting engineering projects in the country and our graduate engineers work on these projects every day!

The Jacobs industrial placement programme is aimed towards giving you the most agile and varied experience. An in-depth taste of life at Jacobs and all the fantastic opportunities your future holds.

What you'll need

  • A passion for tackling problems
  • Working towards Masters or Bachelors in a STEAM Discipline
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills
  • Able to produce well-presented and accurate drawings and reports.
  • Interest in new, digital ways of working, technologies and automation
  • Committed to work and capable of managing own tasks, costs and meeting deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work as part of a team.
  • Good IT skills

Ideally, here’s what you’ll also have

  • Proven communication skills; both verbally and written
  • Demonstrated a previous interest in working in the Engineering Sector
  • Full driving licence
