About the opportunity

Jacobs is a leading service provider in Strategic Consulting across infrastructure and construction, delivering projects at all stages from organisational set up, feasibility studies, and design, through to construction and operation.  We operate across the UK and internationally supporting our clients in the delivery of through-life value.

Our Intelligent Asset Management & Assurance team works with our clients to help them realise value from their assets. Working at all levels of client organisations across multiple sectors and industries; we act as a critical friend providing strategic thinking and practical, resilient and assured solutions that deliver whole life value.  By combining traditional consultancy skills with data driven solutions we increase our clients understanding of their asset base, helping them to work smarter and realise tangible benefits.

Our services provide solutions across the whole asset life cycle (commission through to disposal). We conduct organisational benchmarking against ISO 55001 and the IAM 39 subjects and develop tailored asset management policies, objectives and plans. We undertake detailed analysis of different asset groups to deliver whole life optimisation, risk management and simulation modelling. Our multi-criteria analysis makes use of client data enabling informed decision. We provide performance management and assurance frameworks to help clients monitor the health of their asset management system and the condition of their assets. We also help clients to unlock the benefits of predictive and prescriptive analytics, digital replicas, digital twins and bespoke decision support tools. Our whole life cycle services help clients meet their organisational objectives and unlock the potential of their asset base.

Role Outline/ Responsibilities

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Consultant to join our growing business. With office locations and client-based projects across the UK and abroad, as well as our ability to work remotely, we are flexible on location for the right candidate.

As a Graduate Consultant, competence will be developed in a range of skills essential to delivering value from infrastructure assets.  These include Asset Strategy, Integrity, Operational Excellence, Reliability, Maintenance, Turnarounds and Operational Readiness Assurance. The role provides opportunities to tailor bespoke services to suit a diverse set of clients. The successful Graduate Consultant will become part of a respected and ambitious company with excellent career prospects and international opportunities.

We support our clients with a range of strategic activities, including:

  • Design and implementation of organisation-wide solutions, enabling our clients to maximise value from their assets.
  • Provide professional consulting services supporting our client’s organisational development and improvement. Typical services include benchmarking, gap analysis, solution identification, justification, prioritisation, implementation and close out.
  • Supporting the implementation of solutions and value-adding performance improvements within client organisations.
  • Creation of bespoke dashboards, infographics, presentations and other materials that visually disseminate findings in an accessible manner.
  • Provide consultative support and responses to requests for information from internal and external Clients.

Here’s What You’ll Need

  • 2.1 degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Science, Business, or Economics based subjects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative approach with a strong team ethic.
  • Develops relationships based on mutual trust and respect.
  • Good communication, report writing and presentation skills.
  • Proactive and willing to take responsibility.

Ideally, here’s what you’ll also have

  • Forward thinking and willing to challenge the normal approaches.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Desire to expand role and be adaptable to client’s needs.
  • Some experience with data analytics and manipulation.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to solve complex problems.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Proactively uses initiative to develop efficiencies.
  • Experience of VBA, SQL, Python, R+ or similar.
