About the opportunity
We seek proactive, agile and creative engineering, data scientist, carbon management and asset management graduates to join the UK’s largest Transportation Civil design team, with an opportunity in our Birmingham office.
You will typically take a technical supporting role in delivering highway, rail and drainage civil design services throughout all stages of project development. You may be a recent graduate, or already have a little experience, but the role will provide you every opportunity to complete your training towards membership of a professional institution. As well as our ICE accredited training programme to help you achieve professional status, you will be supported by a trained mentor.
We are particularly interested in any candidates who believe they can help us achieve carbon reduction and leaner designs for infrastructure, as alluded to in our Transportation Mission:

Here’s What You’ll Need
- You will hold, or be working towards, an accredited MEng in Civil Engineering, or a Masters in a future orientated discipline such as data science, or asset management, carbon management (or equivalent and expecting a 2:1 as a minimum)
- Excellent analytical and technical skills
- Demonstrable agility and willingness to experience cross transportation roles and a more automated future in the engineering design process;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to produce well-presented and accurate drawings and reports
- Capable of managing own tasks, costs and meeting deadlines
- Self-motivated and able to work as part of a virtual or face to face team
- Good IT skills
- Inclusive mindset and ability to recognise the benefits of diverse backgrounds, demographics and thought in any project situation
