Overseas, we are delivering similarly interesting and exciting projects across the globe including projects for clients in the Middle East and Australia.
Logistics is all about making sure products, equipment and systems are available for use. It covers the functions responsible for the management and technical processes through which support considerations are integrated from the start and throughout the life cycle. We look to influence the design both in terms of maximizing the reliability and minimizing the maintenance and logistic burden, we develop support solutions that integrate the engineering and logistic activities to meet the availability requirements and we ensure these solutions continue to perform through life looking to continuously improve their efficiency and effectiveness.
As a Logistics graduate you will be assisting in the planning and through life delivery of logistic activities and information to support these products and systems. This is a wide ranging discipline which could involve identifying the initial range and scale of spares required, integrating inventory into digital logistic management systems, monitoring the performance of the logistic supply chain, optimizing stock holdings, working with a design team to understand the effect of support on the availability requirements, coordinating preventative maintenance activities, development of training, technical documentation and spares planning or managing the impact on the existing support arrangements of obsolescence or a design change once in service.
