About the opportunity

At Jacobs, we’re transforming intangible ideas into innovative solutions designing the future – today.  As a Transport Planning Intern based from Birmingham, you will too.

Join us and you’ll have the chance to work on helping to develop evaluating and assess various transport scenarios, impacts and opportunities across a range of local, national and international clients across the UK and Ireland. This will include assessing travel needs and opportunities to improve the way people move around their daily activities.

Our Transport Planning team, within which you will be based, has an enviable reputation in the UK as a result of our extensive portfolio of high profile projects. Our projects involve working with various major clients in the transport industry, including local authorities, private sector, and government, throughout the UK and Ireland. Here’s What You’ll Need

  • Working towards an Honours Degree in a relevant subject, for example Mathematics, Engineering,  Sciences, Geography or Economics.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Strong computer software application skills
  • Strong team working capabilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Focus on results and project delivery
  • An understanding of the inputs to and outputs from transport modelling
