Position Summary

We are currently looking for an exceptional candidate to join us on a 12-month Fixed Term contract based in Maidenhead, UK, to assist with the development and execution of our Cough and Cold Global Franchise Marketing strategy and plans.

In this role you will be required to support the Multi-Symptom and Naturals Senior Marketing Manager on a day-to-day basis. Multi-Symptom is the largest Cough & Cold need state with J&J a no.5 player in the category.

You will be expected to lead your own projects and have a demonstrable impact on delivering against market needs. This could be through providing recommendations based on your in-depth analysis of market trends and competitor activities or helping to shape strategic brand initiatives to drive business growth.

During your time in this role you will be able to work directly with Global marketing teams and local markets to influence and develop winning go to market strategies, giving you a true insight into a FMCG marketing role.  In order to succeed, you will need to be agile, able to adapt to fast-moving environments and be able to confidently liaise with and influence key stakeholders.

Main duties and responsibilities

Innovation and Communication Development

  • Assist in the development of commercial innovation (e.g. claims, communications, packaging design) and initiatives to meet market needs and build our pipeline.
  • Help develop go-to-market launch toolkits for 2021 launches, optimisation & delivery. Will take a leadership role in certain elements e.g. Lead Digital assets + In-store key visuals
  • Help manage innovation projects through the J&J stage gate process, gaining senior management approval, and work closely with project managers and cross-functional teams to ensure that key innovation projects are launched on time (including partners from R&D, Packaging Engineering, Supply Chain, Global Strategic Insights and Regulatory Affairs).
  • Lead regs/commercial feasibility and validation of new market launches

Analysis, Reporting and Budgets

  • Support the development of the marketing strategy and key initiatives by providing recommendations based on in-depth analysis of consumer research, market dynamics, competitive activities, pricing, etc.
  • Assist in the development and sharing of best practice and success models by analyzing the results of new product launches and campaigns in markets within the Region. Attend DMC (Developed Market Cluster) Squad meetings and Quarterly Share Out sessions.
  • Monthly tracking of key strategic initiatives & KPIs. 
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations for senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

Education and experience:

  • 1st class or 2:1 Degree in related field
  • Industry experience (either through placement year or other work experience, intern experience)
  • A passion for brands and consumer insights
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Strong problem solving / analytical skills
  • Good planning & organisation skills
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to influence
  • Strong commercial awareness & business acumen
  • Works well under pressure and to deadlines
  • Strong financial understanding & IT skills (Excel intermediate)
  • Right to live and work in the UK for the full duration of the role
