Jotun Paints Europe Ltd has been operating for over 30 years. With our factory proudly based in Scunthorpe, we are the largest Jotun production facility in West Europe.  We also have various sales offices around the UK. About the role

This graduate placement will provide a detailed overview of the business by rotating between departments for 12-18 months before settling into an Protective/Marine Sales position.  

The opportunities in Protective and Marine Sales at Jotun are significant and exciting. The individual will spend time in all departments to gain an understanding of the department and how it aligns to the success of the whole operation and the success of the business.  

Must be prepared to relocate to Flixborough for the placement period, and another UK location upon completion of the placement.

No experience required as all training will be provided.

What you'll do

  • Sales accompaniments (Marine, Protective, Deco, Powder) - to understand the sales role and customer needs / perceptions 

  • CSD - to understand the flow between an order and supply 

  • Planning & Purchasing - to understand where raw materials etc come from and how production is organised  

  • Raw Materials intake 

  • Production dept  

  • Filling dept

  • Finished Goods warehouse

  • Laboratory & Technical  

  • Finance to understand product costing and how the price per litre affects sale price and profitability 

  • Health & Safety – to learn about H&S legislation, the Company’s legal responsibilities, best practice and Jotun policies and practices 

  • Sales accompaniments to understand the sales role and customer needs 

  • R&D – to understand how we develop new PFP products and test them 

  • Czech Powder – to see how a powder factory operates and a different culture  

Throughout the above placements, the trainee will have a hands-on role and participate in projects designed to improve efficiency, effectiveness, or communication
