The Programme and Project Partners (PPP) is an exciting model to work in. Four world class organisations have come together as one team, with Sellafield Ltd, to create a clean and safe environment for future generations. PPP is set to revolutionise project delivery at Sellafield and create a lasting legacy, through long-term partnerships.

The Sellafield nuclear site is home to one of the most complex portfolios of construction and infrastructure projects in the world, stretching over many decades. The new approach will support the transformation from nuclear operator into a world leader in environmental remediation.

The partnership is made up of four lots and Sellafield Ltd, as 5th Partner, to help deliver the site's decommissioning programme:

  • Kellogg Brown and Root Ltd (KBR) - integration partner
  • Jacobs - design and engineering partner
  • Morgan Sindall Infrastructure - civils construction management partner
  • Doosan Babcock Ltd - process construction management partner
  • Sellafield Ltd will work collaboratively with the four lot partners, to deliver major projects in support of the site’s 100-year decommissioning programme.

The new approach is set up to support faster, more effective project delivery, stability in design and construction supply chains, greater workforce flexibility, and local economic benefit. The role with be based in Warrington - vibrant and ideally located between Liverpool and Manchester.

The Role

An exciting chance to take part in structured on the job training as a Graduate Risk Practitioner. You will be providing and supporting a comprehensive risk framework and service for either a project or multi-project portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • You will be shown and trained to comply with all safety guidance
  • Be supported to provide and manage risk information within a defined framework and systems to ensure an effective service to a Project or project portfolio
  • Assisting in providing quality risk registers for all Project phases and stages
  • Trained to elicit the relevant underpinning for all risks
  • Learn to support the analysis of project stakeholder risks
  • Taught to maintain the agreed risk database
  • Trained to understand the links between risk, cost and schedule (time)
  • Learn with mentoring to recognize and understand the relationship of risk management to nuclear safety
  • Assist support the delivery of risk products (e.g. modelling, assessment and reporting) to high quality and within project deadlines
  • Be able with support to perform risk management within Projects using the agreed processes and practices

Specifically with support

  • Assist the projects to clearly define their objective(s) and the associated risks;
  • Identify risks using applicable risk assessment tools, techniques and methods;
  • Analyse risks using applicable quantitative techniques in accordance with the recognized Risk Management process;
  • Assist the project to develop and select the best risk treatment strategy;
  • Periodically review the risks and risk treatment strategies in order to update, eliminate or add risks and to meet reporting requirements;
  • Document work in the appropriate format consistent with the risk management process.

Accountabilities

  • Maintain the accuracy of risk data communicated to project staff;
  • The highlighting of any current and potential risk related issues to the Project Manager;
  • Maintain compliance with approved processes, procedures and Project Execution Plans;
  • Maintain the relationship of risk management to nuclear safety and security.
  • To work in compliance with the Collaborative Management Plan.

Skills and Experience

  • Ideally Project Management or Risk graduate or equivalent
  • You will need strong communication and organisational skills and confident in using Excel
  • You will need to have the right to work in the UK and be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance
