Do you have an interest and passion for learning about the People function and how we recruit the skills and talent we need for today and the future? If you want to start your career within teams that value your ideas, you could join us in the Recruitment Team within our People and Property Team.

The recruitment team play a pivotal role in working with the various business areas to recruit diverse talent and ensure we have the right capability to operate successfully. The role will give you the opportunity to learn about different areas of the recruitment whether it be for high volume roles, our specialist roles, Early Careers and the various operations that sit behind that. The role will also give you the opportunity to get insight and learn about our diverse businesses and brands. The people in our teams care about our customers’ needs, they listen to feedback, look at data, and discover trends that help us deliver an effective recruitment service. They are great communicators with a desire to bring new ideas, and who appreciate people with different strengths. That’s why we’re looking for people from all backgrounds and degree disciplines to share fresh and innovative insight, views and ideas. If you share our passion and are keen to continue learning, we’ll help you to become a specialist in this area.

What You’ll Learn

Over the one year, you’ll discover and learn about the recruitment operations and how the teams support our businesses to recruit diverse talent

Your line manager will help you create plans for your progress, and we’ll support you with completing your industrial placement as part of your degree. Working in diverse teams will develop your communication skills, and you’ll also have opportunities to build networks with peers and colleagues across the Group.

Throughout the programme, you'll see how your work contributes to our purpose of Helping Britain Recover. And how our culture and supportive environment helps you develop your strengths and build a career in a specialism you’re genuinely passionate about.

The Work You Could Be Doing

  • Developing your knowledge of branding, attraction, sourcing, assessment and recruitment technologies
  • Providing advice and support to shape proactive hiring approaches
  • Building relationships with stakeholders to understand their needs
  • Looking at customer behaviours, data and market insights to learn and consider innovative or different ways of doing things
  • Leading on projects and building team relationships that create positive outcomes
  • Working with candidates and providing an excellent experience and employer brand
  • Working on initiatives aligned to ensuring we are diverse and inclusive in our hiring approach

What You Need To Apply

As we help Britain recover, we're focused on creating a values-led culture and are committed to building a workforce which reflects the diversity of the customers and communities we serve. We therefore welcome applications from a diverse group of backgrounds, degree disciplines and universities. As long as you are on track for a minimum of a 2:2 and you will be in your penultimate year of your course, we are open to all degree disciplines and this doesn’t necessarily need to be within Human Resources.  We’re open to all disciplines because we value the new perspectives that come with diversity.

Key Details

Duration: From 27th June 2022 until Friday 30th June 2023

Salary: £19,300 (£22,750 in London)

Location: You’ll have the opportunity to work in a flexible way, a mixture of at home and in one of our hubs for People and Property (London, Bristol, Leeds, Halifax, Birmingham or Edinburgh).
