What You’ll Learn On The Software Engineering Industrial Placement

From the moment you start, you'll be working alongside experienced engineers to deliver exceptional services to our customers. You could be improving our internet or mobile banking apps. You could be learning to use JavaScript or C#. Or you could be helping to create a learning culture across the engineering community. Whatever you do, you’ll be given real responsibility and treated as a valued member of the team.

Along with structured training sessions, you’ll have opportunities to build a network of colleagues and peers who can help you with your development. We'll help you build your leadership skills and give you the chance to volunteer for extracurricular activities, like helping improve people’s digital skills or getting involved in hackathons. And if you do well, you could even score a fast-track assessment for our Software Engineering Graduate Scheme.

On An Industrial Placement, You Could Be...

  • Learning how to deliver software using languages like JavaScript, C# and Python

What You Need To Apply

You’ll need a basic understanding of at least one modern programming language or framework. You’ll also need a passion for learning and a strong desire to succeed.

Our Software Engineering Industrial Placements are based in either Edinburgh, London or West Yorkshire, and candidates should select one of these locations during their application.  Although you’ll be applying for one location hub, you will be asked to indicate your willingness to consider another location hub if the opportunity were to arise.
