The Lockheed Martin Global Business Development International (GBDI) Europe HQ intern will join a close-knit, busy team which operates in a combination of hybrid working and in our London office.   The GBDI HQ team coordinates activity across ten LM offices in Europe and the environment is dynamic and fast paced.  As such, the LMI intern could be asked to contribute to a wide variety of projects and events to help the GBDI Europe team function smoothly and provide appropriate functional support to Lockheed Martin Business Areas.
The successful intern will use and develop skills in marketing, data analysis, communications, drafting and business development. Tasks could include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the Chief Executive of Europe’s team with managing a robust planning process for Lockheed Martin and updating/maintaining information regarding the business  environments of covered regions;
  • Supporting accurate and consistent customer engagement and documenting this data through stakeholder mapping for key customers and programmes;
  • Regularly communicating with international team members and consultants in order to coordinate projects;
  • Managing the guest list for key events in Europe, including issuing and tracking invitations;
  • Providing ad hoc project support to individual LM offices in Europe, in connection with specific events, conferences or projects.

Projects can range from every-day tasks such as managing and updating key documents to directly participating in the briefing, trip logistics and documentation for large events for senior leadership. As a result of such variety in the workload, it is important to be able to operate both independently and as part of a team.

The successful candidate will report to the Chief of Staff for GBDI Europe, who works remotely, and will be managed on a day-to-day basis by the Project Management and Planning Operations Representative who is based in London.  The intern will be offered the opportunity to provide support across the full range of responsibilities of Lockheed Martin GBDI Europe, including assisting with preparations for high profile trade shows such as the Farnborough Air Show.  The role may also involve some travel in Europe as required to support projects at other LM offices in the region.

Sharing the office with Lockheed Martin UK, the International team based in London is small but very supportive and provides a perfect environment to develop key skills for the future.
