What is Trading Platform & Core Technology?
The Trading Platform & Core Technology business unit is organised into several departments that handle both strategy and delivery for centralised and investment manager specific initiatives, as well as providing the technology infrastructure for the firm.
Order & Execution Management:
The team is responsible for establishing the technology needed to support a centralised, global trading desk across the Group. Developers are involved in implementing best of breed trading systems and enterprise level technology solutions whilst working directly with the business.
Trading Platform & Investment Management Technology:
The group is responsible for the technology solutions implemented across a wide range of business lines, including Investment Risk, FRM, MSL, GPM, Compliance, Sales and Marketing, Funds Treasury, Operations and Risk & Performance Reporting and all roles have a balance of BAU and Project work. BAU work will involve maintaining the existing tech stack, 3rd line support and supporting the business with smaller enhancements and fixes. While project work will consist of longer term far reaching changes, that are a mixture of extending existing systems, incorporating new technologies and building out the strategic technology platform in line with our long term vision.
Core Technology is comprised of End-User, Infrastructure and Corporate technology. Focusing on improving the quality and performance of the services we provide to all our staff with technology such as computers, phones and video conferencing. Running and enhancing the technology infrastructure including data centres, storage, networks and telecommunications systems. The development and support of platforms that support Finance, HR, Legal, and Facilities departments.
What Does the Trading Platform & Core Technology Programme Offer?
Man Group's Trading Platform Technology Programme provides a unique opportunity to gain a challenging and interesting experience in a dynamic, global technology business by rotating through three 8-month placements within TP&C Technology over a two-year period.

Please note that the allocation of individual rotations will be based on each graduate’s skills and interests. It is possible to rotate through all three business areas, or specialize in one/two of them.
As one of our graduates you will gain a thorough understanding of our business and having successfully completed the programme, will be well-placed to develop a long-term career at Man Group. Formal and on-the-job training will be provided to enable you to contribute to the business and each trainee will be mentored by a member of the senior leadership team.
Who Is Man Group Looking For?
We are keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate a passion for technology either through a related university degree or equivalent (and who have obtained/are expecting a first class or upper second class degree), related internships/ work experience or extra-curricular activities. In addition, you must be able to show that you have a genuine interest in pursuing a career in a fast-paced and innovative industry, excellent problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills and are able to think critically whilst operating effectively in a dynamic, rapidly-changing environment. Successful candidates should be available to join in September 2020.

What Happens After I Have Sent My Application?
Step 1: Application Review
We will review your CV and you will hear from us by email to confirm whether your application is being progressed. We do receive a high volume of applications so there may be a wait to hear back but we will be in touch as soon as possible.
Step 2: Telephone Interview
The next stage will be a telephone interview. The interview should take no longer than 45 minutes to complete and allows us to understand more about you.
Step 3: Assessment Day
If you are successful at the phone or video interview stage, the final stage will be an assessment day at our City office. We will be holding assessment days on 31st March & 1st April. We will advise you of our decision as quickly as possible following the assessment day.
