The Marsh CAS Opportunity
Working for Client Advisory Services, you will work either directly with clients or in support of the broking business to develop and deliver innovative solutions to clients beyond the buying of insurance. Solutions may include better risk management approaches, handling of complex claims and use of data-driven analysis to inform a client’s insurance strategy.
When you join our program, you will be allocated to a core area of CAS, while still getting the opportunity to rotate into all areas to better understand our business.
Our Close-to-Broking team provides solutions aligned to specific classes of insurance (Casualty, Property and Motor). Our objective is to deliver risk management support, guidance and services to enable optimum placement of insurance, minimize risk exposure and provide risk insight through sector knowledge and expertise. Our services include health & safety, property risk engineering and motor fleet risk management.
In the Strategic Risk Consulting team we help clients in a number of different ways. We help them to identify, quantify and manage the risks they face, be that cyber or climate change, and we help them to improve their resiliency for when things do go wrong. We often use innovative techniques and approaches to solve our clients’ issues, for example, using drones and satellite imagery to assess the impacts of natural catastrophe events, or working with our brokerage colleagues to develop new insurance solutions where none existed before.
An integral part of Marsh’s overall proposition is our dedicated Risk Analytics team. Marsh Risk Analytics offer a wide range of actuarial and data-driven services to clients and prospects; using and developing actuarial and financial models to support clients’ decision making on insurance and financial risk issues.
Finally,Claims are the reason insurance exists. Claims are becoming more frequent and costly whether as a result of an increase in natural catastrophes and climate change, an increased propensity for litigation or as a result of wider insurance cover for new emerging risks like cyber. We help our clients when disaster strikes, ensuring the policy works in the correct way and our clients obtain the settlement they are due. For smaller ‘attritional’ losses we work with clients to help understand why they are receiving claims and what can be done to prevent or mitigate the costs of claims to their business.
Working alongside our Claims team is the Financial Advisory Services team who specialize in preparing and managing large complex claims for clients who have suffered physical and financial losses following an insured loss event. This team has over 100 people across the globe, comprising loss adjusters, forensic accountants, lawyers and engineers.
Requirement and Skills

In order to apply candidates must be eligible to work in the UK or Republic of Ireland and have achieved or be on target for a minimum 2.1 classification.
Applications to Strategic Risk Consulting, Financial Advisory Services and Marsh Risk Analytics will require a numerate degree or A level in mathematics. Applications for our property risk engineering team will need an engineering degree.
