Who are we looking for?
We are looking for graduates with an enthusiastic and curious approach to learning and a genuine interest in technology and developments within the sector. You will have strong investigative skills, the ability to think critically, and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. We are looking for graduates from a diverse range of backgrounds and actively recruit from all degree disciplines.
You will possess or have been predicted a 2:1 undergraduate degree or higher from any discipline and have 300 UCAS points or equivalent.
What is the Technology - Development Graduate Scheme?
Technology plays a vital role in the success of our business at M&G. The Information Systems (IS) Department is responsible for developing, integrating and maintaining the critical software and technology that underpins M&G operations and strategy.
The Development Graduate Scheme will last 18 months during which you will gain first-hand experience in using industry standard technology in a creative and challenging environment. You will play a core role in delivering change, whilst also developing your technical skills and gaining an insight into and understanding of the business. The nature of the work will vary from team to team.
Data & Integration
Data & Integration is the hub at the centre across the range of M&G systems. We provide development capability and expertise to connect the many and varied systems that underpin the M&G investment business. Utilising agile tools and practices coupled with enterprise level technology and messaging predominantly utilising Java, MQ and Spring.
A small agile team focused on rapid delivery of Application Programme Interface's (APIs) and user interfaces to both internal and external clients, including but not limited to M&G's global marketing, sales, mobile and digital teams. Retail Digital is responsible for reshaping M&G's digital DNA.
Custom Apps Development
Custom Apps Development provides applications that go where others fear to tread. They provide bespoke development and Business Intelligence services using modern delivery tools and practices, and support a range of over 200 apps built mainly in C#, ASP MVC, SQL Server, PowerShell, VBA Excel, MS Access and SAP Business Objects.
Release Management provide the oversight to managing change through the M&G systems range. They are responsible for managing, planning, scheduling and controlling software through the necessary checkpoints and environments. Release Managers at M&G are core to ensuring successful project delivery and a stable production environment. They utilise agile tools and practices to manage change, and can often be found Scrum Mastering teams or running Sprint Retrospectives.
What training and development opportunities are provided?
Throughout the scheme you are given comprehensive training and a vast support network; this includes a four-week asset-management introductory programme, a buddy from a previous cohort and an optional mentor. All graduates complete their induction by obtaining the Investment Management Certificate (IMC).
Following the initial training programme, your individual training needs will be assessed and you will begin supported study towards further relevant training and qualifications. You will receive regular feedback through appraisals and also a psychometrics review, allowing you to continue to develop throughout the programme. Graduates are also able to make the most of the in-house training opportunities available.
Once off the scheme your development will continue to be supported through the Learning & Talent Development Team.
