Our Summer Vacation Scheme is a great way for you to find out what it will be like to work as a trainee solicitor at Michelmores. We run two one week vacation placement schemes at our Exeter HQ each July. The scheme is as much about you getting to know Michelmores as a place to work, as it is about us getting to know you.
Structure of week
You will have the opportunity to spend time in one department for the week, as we aim to give you a real hands-on insight into one area of law and life as a trainee by attending client meetings and dealing with 'real work'.
You will learn about our different departments and areas of work, and meet trainees, partners and lawyers. There are also informal lunches with trainees, which will give you the opportunity to gain a true insight into working here.
During the week you will take part in a series of assessment exercises, including a group exercise and a formal training contract interview with a partner and a member of HR.
Although we can't guarantee you a training contract at the end of it, we can guarantee that you will gain an invaluable experience to help shape your future career.

We are looking for people who are academically strong, logical, independent thinkers, practical problem solvers, and who are flexible in their approach to life. We want team players, who relish responsibility and challenges and are as passionate about the success of the Firm as we are, and want to be involved in that success from day one. We are looking for well-rounded individuals who are able to demonstrate that they have drive and enthusiasm.
Ideally you will have received A,B,B at A-Level, or equivalent, and will be expecting to achieve a 2:1 or above at degree level.
