Mitie created its newest division within Mitie Technical Services, Mitie Telecoms, in August 2021 when it acquired DAEL Ventures UK and joined it with their existing Cornerstone Facilities Management group. This has enabled the creation of a complete cell site service provider. Mitie Telecoms are now leading providers of acquisition, design and construction (ADC) services, specialist managed services of temporary mobile infrastructure, and facilities maintenance for telecoms. The teams design, installation and maintenance experience coupled with Mitie's leading technology and scale has created a new force in telecoms and numerous exciting opportunities to be part of a growing organisation.

Main Duties

  • To ensure all project activities are carried out efficiently and effectively to meet the requirements of the client and the business.
  • Complete required H&S training to allow site attendance.
  • Key Duties and responsibilities:
  • Designer for projects such as: Civils/Steel Frame /Piling and concrete; Telecoms rooftop design; Rip and Replace sites - Special Foundations; End of life and structural failure solutions
  • Analysis of Telecom structures and the production of calculations
  • Attend site to survey structures and identify required elements to allow structural calculations to be made.
  • Production of sketches and drawings both by hand and by AutoCad
  • General solving of engineering problems
  • Ensure project work is carried out within agreed deadlines and within budget
  • Checking contractor designs and fabrication drawings
  • Design in accordance with current design standards and CDM 2015 Regulations and Health & Safety regulations
  • With dynamic nature of the Telecom industry, you would need to support other projects if resource is required

What we are looking for

  • BEng in Civil / Structural / Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • A team player with the ability or potential to manage others
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Design flair and ability to propose solutions to clients
  • Able to prioritise work, use own initiative and apply judgement
  • Enthusiasm, imagination and willingness to learn and adapt
  • Ability to work within budgets
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
  • Willingness and ability to learn how to use other systems
