Mizuho Bank, Ltd. London Branch (MHBK), the UK branch of the Japanese headquartered Mizuho Bank, Ltd. Mizuho Bank, Ltd. London Branch (MHBK) is the largest of Mizuho Bank's offices in EMEA with approximately 900 employees. As such, it co-ordinates activities and provides support to other offices in the region. It provides an extensive range of corporate lending and deposit-taking activities. Particular strengths include leveraged, structured, asset-based, trade and project finance. These activities are supported and complemented by a sophisticated treasury operation.

Europe Corporate Finance Department (ECFD)

The European Corporate Finance Department is the Client Coverage and Origination team for European Corporate and Financial Institutions clients in EMEA, and is responsible for the client management of over 350 global names.

Within ECDF, the Coverage Associate Team (CAT) provides in-depth and flexible business support to the Industry Teams within client coverage.  This support includes: client management, business development and marketing, deal origination and reporting. Industries we cover include Energy, Utilities, Consumer, Healthcare, Technology, Services, Financial Institutions, Transport and Industrials

CAT is the perfect host team for our interns as it will enable them to work with, and be supported by, a cohort of multi-disciplined and highly trained finance professionals.

Internships

We are looking for interns with excellent interpersonal and excel skills, a flexible can-do attitude and a passion for financial services and learning.  Fluency in a European language would be advantageous.

You will gain experience in:

  • client relationship management and origination, working closely with the portfolio Relationship Managers;
  • supporting client engagement and business management activities and assisting in the preparation of internal briefing papers and memos, client account plans, client relationship return models, high quality presentation materials and pitch books and financial analysis to support marketing activity and credit applications for new transactions; and
  • maintaining and inputting client activity data and pipeline items into the client relationship management system, and preparing analysis and reports.

The Internship programme is a 10 week programme starting in June 2022.  The aim is that successful interns will be offered a permanent position on the 2023 Mizuho Graduate Programme (commencing September 2023).

Candidates must be in their penultimate year of undergraduate study and be available to start full-time employment from September 2023 and have the permanent right to work in the UK.
