What we do 

Syndications is an independent, market focused department encompassing Capital Markets, Sustainability, Syndicate and Sales teams which is responsible for all loan facility coordination, arranging, underwriting and distribution in EMEA. Our business provides clients with market facing deal structures and pricing, including underwriting if required.

We have four core role-based business lines:

  • Loan Capital Markets (LCM)  - Working with relationship departments pitching clients across all sectors in EMEA region (Corporate, PF, Infra and FI) to win Coordination and Underwriting mandates from our client base
  • Sustainability Loan Markets – This is a new department which will be responsible for pitching to win ESG and Green arranger and agent roles alongside Loan Capital Markets. The team will form the nucleus of the bank’s knowledge base regarding Sustainability in EMEA working alongside relationship teams
  • Syndicate -  Working with Leveraged Capital Markets to underwrite and distribute LBO’s. Managing the CLO product within bank. Working with colleagues in Sales teams in EMEA and globally to identify and execute profitable primary and secondary opportunities
  • Sales – Developing and maintaining strong relationships with Investors in the EMEA region. Working with LCM / Syndicate on primary sell downs. Working with RM departments on secondary risk management via secondary and credit risk insurance markets

Internships

We have an opportunity for an internship encompassing all aspects of our business giving the chosen candidate the opportunity to understand the dynamics and drivers of each of our core business lines along which we operate. The candidate will rotate through a number of relevant departments within syndications and be given the opportunity to gain knowledge across a range of the products and roles for which we are responsible.

We are looking for undergraduates with strong excel skills, who are client focussed, results driven with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  Fluency in more than one European language (including English) is advantageous.

The Internship programme is a 10 week programme starting in June 2022.  The aim is that successful interns will be offered a permanent position on the 2023 Mizuho Graduate Programme (commencing September 2023).

Candidates must be in their penultimate year of undergraduate study and be available to start full-time employment from September 2023 and have the permanent right to work in the UK.
