Mizuho Bank, Ltd. London Branch (MHBK), the UK branch of the Japanese headquartered Mizuho Bank, Ltd. Mizuho Bank, Ltd. London Branch (MHBK) is the largest of Mizuho Bank's offices in EMEA with approximately 900 employees. As such, it co-ordinates activities and provides support to other offices in the region. It provides an extensive range of corporate lending and deposit-taking activities. Particular strengths include leveraged, structured, asset-based, trade and project finance. These activities are supported and complemented by a sophisticated treasury operation.

International Acquisition Finance Department (IAFD)

In close collaboration with the rest of our global network, we offer clients a wide range of innovative corporate and investment banking products and solutions that are designed to meet their needs and objectives. Through our network of offices we provide an extensive range of corporate lending and deposit-taking activities supported and complemented by our sophisticated treasury operation. Our research capabilities can provide corporate clients with a range of customised advice on inward and outward investment, mergers and acquisitions, structuring and arranging of project finance.  With a continuously active track record of 30+ years in the EMEA acquisition finance market, our highly respected team have an excellent track record in acquisition finance and deep relationships with the private equity players across EMEA.

By utilising our speed of delivery and combining our understanding of the investor market with our industry and sector knowledge our clients rely on our experience and the value we can add in structuring solutions. We specialise in supporting our clients across the corporate life cycle, be it via idea generation, acquisition, divesture, recapitalisation or a minority equity.

Internships

We are looking for interns with excellent communication and presentation skills, who are highly numerate with an awareness of our clients’ needs and deadlines.

You will receive a focussed training experience in a small nurturing team, with access to real deals, with the primary focus being on financial modelling, credit papers, data research, pitch books and due diligence.  You will spend time on the Origination Desk, with exposure to Portfolio Management, assisting team members in all aspects of origination, execution and portfolio responsibilities.

The Internship programme is a 10 week programme starting in June 2022.  The aim is that successful interns will be offered a permanent position on the 2023 Mizuho Graduate Programme (commencing September 2023).

Candidates must be in their penultimate year of undergraduate study and be available to start full-time employment from September 2023 and have the permanent right to work in the UK.
