Our Internships are 12 months long (although some roles have the flexibility to be shorter) and during your placement, we’ll make you an integral part of our team and give you a real job – with real responsibilities – from day one. We hope to help you expand your horizons and encourage your personal and professional development.  

We want to make sure you get the most from your time with us. That’s why once you join we’ll work out ambitious but achievable goals for you. Then through the support of a buddy and regular reviews with your manager, we’ll help you achieve them.   If all goes well, we may even offer you a role after graduation. 

Life in Research Development and Quality (RDQ)

As an intern at Mondelēz International you will be responsible and accountable for your project(s). During the placement you will be expected to plan and execute tests of various scale (e.g. benchtop, pilot plant, and factory) as appropriate for your project as well as to coordinate informal sensory assessment. Key deliverables would be to produce technical reports/presentations and periodically communicate your key findings to stakeholders. You will also have the opportunity to interact with the wider RDQ Community, other business functions and external suppliers. In addition to this you may also be expected to support other ongoing project activities in and outside of your immediate team. For some roles, occasional international travel may be required. 

Bournville  

This is our chocolate centre of excellence. Teams work on a variety of chocolate projects from around the world. 

Pack Development & Deploy  

These teams bring together scientific knowledge and creative minds to develop new and existing packaging for our most loved brands e.g. Cadbury, Milka & Toblerone to name a few. These teams work with other cross functional teams in the business e.g. Marketing, Consumer Insights, and Procurement & Manufacturing. 

Candidate requirements

  • Studying towards a degree in packaging, design, engineering or related disciplines 
  • 2:1 degree - predicted end result (or equivalent)
  • A sound knowledge of materials basics 
  • Proficient in MS Office applications,   
  • Problem solving 
  • Visualisation skills, 
  • Naturally inquisitive and passionate about design excellence, 
  • Demonstrate strong creative, communication and presentation abilities 
  • Able to work well both independently and as part of a team. 

Creative Designer (packaging)  

This role supports the Global Consumer Experience Design team throughout the creative elements of a wide variety of projects. The team work on innovative ideas to create new and exciting packaging solutions by using appropriate software packages, 3D models & physical prototypes, 2D designs & visualisations. 

Candidate requirements

  • Studying towards an Industrial / Product / Graphic Design degree or similar, 
  • 2:1 degree - predicted end result (or equivalent), 
  • A sound knowledge of materials basics 
  • Experience of using 3D and 2D CAD software, including excellent knowledge of relevant design packages (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.),
  • Experienced in using photographic techniques to support design work, 
  • Proficient in MS Office applications,   
  • Visualisation skills, 
  • Problem solving 
  • Naturally inquisitive and passionate about design excellence,
  • Demonstrate strong creative, communication and presentation abilities 
  • Able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
