Life in Research, Development, Quality (RDQ)

The role

The Modelling and Simulation team is an organisation of professionals who translate complex technical challenges into computer simulations to enable rapid, high quality innovation across our chocolate, biscuit, gum & candy categories. There are 2 parts to the team Physical Science and Data Science. The Physical Science team build models based on first principals using commercial software tools including CFD, FEA and DEM. The second part is the Data Science team. Here models are built up based on data collected from the physical processes. The position is for a place in the Physical Sciences team at our Bournville location.

In this role you will (with help and guidance from the team) use appropriate software tools to build simulations, including model construction, meshing, solvers, and post-processing. Ensure simulations are validated against experimental data, this may include running or managing the experiments or trials required. You will communicate outputs from the simulation and work to engineering and RDQ teams to ensure learning is embedded in the business quickly to speed up innovation and optimisation
